"I'm the mom of a one-year old who hadn't slept well since birth. I thought I'd never get a good night's sleep again. My mood was pretty dark in those days, which I now realize was because I was so darn tired. My girlfriend bought an online sleep course and it worked great for her. So, I decided to give it a try. I was happy when I saw the course was designed by a pediatrician. I found it a little tricky sitting in the room and not lifting my daughter out of her bed when she was fussing. But I picked her up when she was seriously crying---dr. cathryn recommends you adjust things to make them work for you, as long as you are consistent. It took about 3 weeks before Stephanie was sleeping better. Thank you dr. cathryn...I feel more confident and happier now that I'm getting more sleep. "

"I didn't expect to have problems with sleep, as everyone says twins are good sleepers . In fact, I would have agreed with that statement until last month when we returned from our vacation. Suddenly both boys were refusing to go to bed and waking up every few hours at night. After 2 weeks, I started looking for help. My girlfriend told me about dr. cathryn's program. I'd never taken an online course and I wasn't sure I'd like it because I didn't think I'd have anywhere to turn with problems. But I was reassured because there was a private Facebook group where I could get help. The program was very practical because each day you get only the information you need for that day. I'd listen to the audio portion while driving. The program worked really well and was even faster than I thought. My boys fussed a bit in the first few days but I stayed in the room until they both fell asleep. It only took 3 days and they were back on track. Thanks dr. cathryn! Your program worked great!"

"My 5 month old is sleeping better after using H.E.L.P. for 6 days. I stayed in the room the whole time. It wasn't easy but I'm so glad we sleep-trained our little one because the entire family is happier now! "

"Once I was truly ready to get more sleep, my little lady was sleeping within a week. I can't recommend this highly enough!"

"When Perri was a tiny baby she slept pretty well. I thought I'd lucked out. But suddenly around 6 month's old, Perri started to wake up every 2 hours. I thought I was going to go crazy. I tried letting her cry-it-out but that only lasted one night. I was so confused... dr. cathryn helped me understand why Perri was waking up and she gave me a program to follow. She encouraged me to make adjustments to the program so it fit my way of doing things. After a few nights, Perri started to sleep for longer stretches. I'm really glad I found a way to help Perri sleep longer because she's happier and even feeding better now. I just wish I'd done this earlier."

FAQ's:

I'm glad you asked...

dr. cathryn takes the guesswork out of sleep-training for the perpetually exhausted parent who wants more sleep but doesn't want her baby to feel unloved in the process.

What About Crying-It-Out?

In this program, you'll discover how to help your baby feel protected, supported, and cherished as she becomes an independent sleeper.  This is a gentle strategy where you never leave your baby alone to cry-it-out.

Will My Baby Sleep Through The Night?

With the strategies you're about to learn, your baby will gradually transition to full nights. It typically takes a baby about a week to adjust to new sleep routines. However, every baby is unique and make take shorter or longer.

What's Required To Take This Course?

  • a loving rookie or veteran parent, or two
  • a caring soon-to-be parent, or two
  • the desire to use a fewer-tears sleep approach
  • a healthy baby

What's NOT Required To Take This Course?

  • you don't need to be computer savvy
  • you don't need a personalized plan because you'll be encouraged to tweak this program to fit perfectly for you
  • it doesn't take much time as it's provided in bite-sized daily chunks
  • it doesn't take a lot of energy, as you sit in the room with your child the entire time

Am I just going to hear the same old stuff.... sleep associations and sleepy awake?

Well... yes and no. These concepts are based on the science of sleep...which doesn't change. You will certainly hear a lot about these concepts. However, most sleep training fails because there is no clear plan. The New Baby Sleep School is designed to provide you support and solid information. We plan to walk you through the process with a clear plan and a plenty of room for you to tweak things to fit 'right' for your personal preferences.

What Age Baby Is This Meant For?

This is designed for healthy babies 4 months - 18 months ..or older.

How Does The Course Work?

We'll walk you through sleep-training with daily specific  (...do this, then do this, and then do that) instructions. You'll learn how to nudge your baby toward peaceful sleep with gentle encouragements. Within 10 days the vast majority of babies are sleeping better and longer.

You'll receive daily specific, clear, and actionable steps. The daily steps are provided as in audio form, there's a daily video sleep lesson and crucial downloadable guides.

Will I Have Anywhere To Turn With Problems Or Questions?

We don't want you to ever feel alone. That's why you'll be encouraged to join the private Facebook Group where you'll find other non-judgmental parents. Plus, dr cathryn drops in regularly to answer your questions.

Is My Baby Too Young or Too Old To Learn?

This program has been designed for babies from 4 - 18 months-old. Although everyone is different and has their own priorities and preferences, after using this approach for more than 30-years, I've found it works with all babies whether they're easy-going, sensitive, stubborn or strong-willed. The easier the baby, the quicker it works, but it works with all babies in good time.

I'm co-sleeping. Will this work?

Your baby can learn to fall asleep on her own anywhere.

BONUS #1:

To make sure you feel supported, each day you'll receive downloadable sleep guides, worksheets, info sheets, and cheatsheets.

BONUS #2: You're not alone!

If you have any problems, questions, or concerns, there's a private facebook group where you'll find nonjudgemental supportive parents, just like you.

about dr. cathryn

greetings, I'm dr. cathryn.
I'm a general and consulting pediatrician with more than 30 years experience. I'm also a trained midwife, a two-time author ( The Lull-A-Baby Sleep Plan and The Parent's Problem Solver), and the mother of four absolutely amazing kids.

If you're anything like the loving parents I see in my office every day (which I suspect you are) then you're probably looking for solid advice that you can trust on how to get more sleep in a way that doesn't confuse, hurt, or frustrate your baby.

After I made some very goofy sleep mistakes with my second child (yes, pediatrician's make mistakes too!) I started this program to help loving parents, just like you. Sleep deprivation is devastating, and I'm going to help you boost your baby's sleep so you feel more energetic, patient, happy, and calm again.

This program has been successfully mom-and-baby tested for more than 30 years. I've discovered that it helps babies and toddlers sleep better regardless of whether they're easy-going, touchy, or stubborn and persistent little monkeys.

My mission is not only to help you succeed in getting more sleep but also to help you raise healthy, happy children.

How This Approach Is Going To Help You

The Pediatrician's Guide To More Sleep will help you gently nudge your child into happy and effective sleep habits using a unique method called H.E.L.P. (hover, empathize, lift-up/put-down).

This system gradually weans your baby out of sleep habits that aren't working while they naturally discover new healthier ones that boost sleep.

You'll be encouraged to stay in the room with your child the entire time and provide support and love from the sidelines.

Your child won't feel deserted or anxious because you're there to reassure them the entire time. The best part is that this doctor-designed program has been pre-tested by literally tens of thousands of babies who are now enjoying more sleep.

What if you could get more sleep without frustrating, hurting, or confusing your baby?

FRANCES AND HER SLEEP STORY

Frances came to my office when her baby, Henry, was 4-months old. She was desperately tired and feeling a little blue. Henry was waking up every 1 - 2 hours at night and it took almost a half-hour of rocking to get him back to sleep. By the time Frances came to my office, she was at her breaking point.
She read all the popular sleep books and scoured the Internet for sleep advice. She'd already tried several different techniques and even worked with a sleep consultant...but nothing worked. In fact, after her last attempt, things backfired and Henry was refusing to even go into his crib.
When Frances came for her appointment, Henry was sleeping in her bed, which was something she'd always promised herself she'd never do.
Frances realized she was just too tired and overwhelmed to sort out all the conflicting advice.
I encouraged Frances to believe in her baby's ability to learn and grow...and to believe in her own strength and abilities to guide him there.  We had a good chat about gentle sleep-training options and Frances left with a solid and nurturing plan in place.
When Frances returned a few weeks later, I knew things went well as she was smiling and relaxed. Frances said, "Things aren't perfect but they're better!" "Henry is sleeping in his crib now and I'm no longer rocking him to sleep." "But best of all, I know what I need to do to help Henry sleep better."

"I thought the first night would be the worst! I was so excited when my 3- month old fell asleep on her own that I called Dr. Cathryn's office and left her a message: 'You were right about Paige being able to fall asleep on her own. But you were wrong when you said it would take about 20 minutes--it only took 10!"
