Making a Mess Boosts Brain Power. ⁣

I’m really really sorry to say this BUT making a mess at mealtimes is great for a tot’s development. ⁣

That doesn’t mean you need to allow your baby to throw food or toss it on the floor, but a hands-on approach has many developmental benefits. ⁣

Remember, play is experimenting, observing outcomes, learning, and then reevaluating. It’s research and development. ⁣

Little kids learn by poking, squishing, and tasting their food.

Exploring food with her hands makes a toddler happy and helps her understand her world.⁣

It also helps with avoiding picky eating habits.⁣

Once your little one is doing more throwing than eating, it's a good time to end the meal.  ⁣

But let's get real...⁣

You won't always have the time or energy to deal with messes--and that's perfectly ok!⁣

PRO-TIP: Limit the mess by using a floor mat to make clean-up easier. ⁣
