Why does my baby keep sneezing...and other newborn worries

Newborns do many quirky things.

Let’s look at a few things that often cause worry.

☞ Nails grow fast - Kids have a higher metabolic rate so their skin cells (which is what makes up nails) turn over more quickly⁣.⁣

⁣☞ Babies sleep in frog position - Babies' limbs are bent early just as they were in the womb. ⁣

☞ Sneezing- A baby sneezes because she can’t blow her nose⁣.⁣

☞ Hiccups - These are innocent, although no one is really sure why they happen⁣.⁣

⁣☞ Snoring-Babies have tiny nasal passages and a tiny amount of mucous will cause snoring.⁣

⁣☞ Leg jerks during sleep- A still-developing nervous system can cause your baby’s leg to tremble. It should stop when you touch it.⁣

☞ Red face with pooping - Babies will often strain with stooling in part due to the fact that they don’t have gravity to help them pass stool.⁣

☞ Bottom lip quivers - Typically the result of an immature nervous system.⁣

⁣☞ Startling - All babies are born with a reflex called the Moro reflex. He’ll throw his arms wide, spread his fingers, and then make a fist as he’s instinctively grabbing for you. This reflex disappears with time. ⁣
